There is no straightforward answer to this simple question. In the U.S., whether you can legally buy CBD products depends on your state. The states set the age limits, not the federal government. Some states require an individual to be 18+, whereas others impose the buyer must be 21+. Some have no age restrictions.
The 2018 Farm Bill legislates CBD and hemp products. However, it does not place an age restriction on CBD. It means that federal laws do not restrict anyone from buying CBD. Instead, the state does. The only existing restriction is that CBD must be hemp-derived and not marijuana-derived and contain no more than 0.3% THC.
Which States Do Not Have Age Restrictions?
Alabama: This state requires you to be a registered medical cannabis patient. However, there is no age limit.
Arkansas: You need not have a license to buy CBD, but farming or selling hemp edibles, drinkables, tinctures, smokables, or any other CBD products necessitates it.
New Jersey: To get into the medical marijuana program in New Jersey, you must be 18+.
Arizona: Hemp-derived CBD is accessible to people of all ages in Arizona.
Iowa: Like Arizona, Iowa has no age restrictions on hemp-derived CBD products.
